On June 27 and 28, we were visited by eight experts from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, who specialize in topics related to the inventory of emissions from air pollution sources, greenhouse gas emissions, and the preparation of emission projections. This meeting is held annually, following the conclusion of the European Environmental Agency's review process, and serves to exchange experiences and implement improvements, as well as to check the methodologies, factors, and input data used.
This year's meeting focused on the harmonization of emission flows and balancing systems between greenhouse gases and pollutants, examples of cooperation between national statistical offices, and the functioning of information systems. The meeting discussed in detail the preparation of emission projections using the TIMES model, ETF, and MESAP software, as well as the stage of implementation of the new IPCC 2019 Guidelines.
The meeting is always beneficial for both parties and provides space for a mutual peer review of new procedures, methodologies, and projects. We thank our Czech colleagues for their collaboration.
