This year, too, our department sent emission inventories and emission projections of air pollutants for the Slovak Republic on time under the LRTAP Convention and the NEC Directive for the period 1990-2021. Part of the package reported on March 15, 2023, was also an Informative Inventory Report (IIR), which provides information mainly about emission trends, the level of fulfilment of obligations of the Slovak Republic and methodological procedures.
We can conclude that the Slovak Republic currently fulfils its obligations to reduce emissions for the period 2020-2029 for NOx, NMVOC, SOx, NH3 and PM2.5, and does not exceed the levels given for heavy metals and POPs.
Road transport and agriculture are still considered the most critical areas in terms of reducing emissions.
