Reporting under CLRTAP and NECD

The Department of Emissions and Biofuels prepared emission inventories of Large point sources and National gridded data of emissions, we also reported projections of air pollutants, disaggregated by sector, up to the year 2050.

Reporting under CLRTAP and NECD

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, we reported the emission inventories of large point sources and national gridded data of emissions for the year 2023 to the UNECE and the European Commission, under the LRTAP Convention and the NEC Directive. The large point sources emission inventories provide an overview of significant stationary sources of pollution, whose combined emissions within a defined operational area exceed set emission thresholds for air pollutants. National gridded data of emissions represent detailed emission data distributed across the entire territory of Slovakia. Emission data are divided into a regular square grid based on geographic coordinates. These emission inventories include data on 15 key air pollutants (NOX, NMVOC, SOX, NH3, PM2.5, PM10, BC, CO, Pb, Cd, Hg, PCDD and PCDF, PAHs, HCB, PCBs). The inventories are submitted every four years and are published on the official reporting portal of the European Environment Agency. The methodology for the preparation of these reports is available in the IIR report.

The large point sources emission inventory under the NEC Directive is available here, and under the LRTAP Convention here.

The emission inventory of national gridded data of emissions under the NEC Directive is available here, and under the LRTAP Convention here.

On April 15, final projections of air pollutants for the period 2025 to 2050 were also submitted. The projections include data on eight mandatory pollutants (NOx, NMVOC, SOX, NH3, PM2.5, PM10, TSP, and BC) and are disaggregated by sector. The final projections of air pollutants is available here, and the report on emission projections is available here.
