An important part of the meetings is the exchange of experience between experts regarding the results of international review processes within the framework of emission inventory review. This meeting was significant in that the countries (except Hungary, which submitted the report at the end of 2025) had completed in-country reviews of the first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR 1) under the Paris Agreement. The reviews covered the verification of emissions data, emission projections, progress towards achieving the Paris Agreement targets, as well as measures taken to prepare the second BTR and ways to incorporate improvements. One of the important tasks will also be to improve reporting on gender balance issues in the transparency process under the Paris Agreement.
In the area of agricultural emissions, we focused on exchanging knowledge on urea and implementing a higher methodology for its assessment, exchanging knowledge and recommendations on measures to ensure compliance with the ammonia ceiling commitments.
The next meeting of V4 experts will be in Warsaw in 2027.
